Hi all,

I am not clear on the following - apologies if it is simple just not getting it.

I have a unit that is not within 2 hexes of a leader at the start of the go, the unit does not prep fire or move but fires in the advance fire phase at which point it is in the command range of an in-command leader who moved in the movement phase.

Is this unit now in command or not?

Any clarification would be appreciated

Regards
Simon

No, the unit is not In-Command. The key is S16.4, “at the moment his CMD DR is made.” The leader exerts his influence at the moment he makes his In-Command DR. So in your example, the a unit not In-Command during the APh will have to make his own In-Command DR regardless where the leader is...if the leader is already In-Command.

I think not. S16.4 says "at the moment his CMD DR is made." Only those units in LOS and within two hexes of the leader when if makes the CMD DR are in Command. Moving or advancing later (or if LOS becomes clear) doesn't cause other units to become in Command.
