When my Sherman M4 attempts to fire WP at a concealed ("?" )German unit in a building at less than 12 hexes (Gets a +2 added TH), besides using the required Area fire TH for firing smoke, does it also add Case K (+2 DRM)?

C6.2 confuses me:

[EXC:when firing SMOKE, Case K applies only if the target hex contains greater than/equal one non-hidden enemy ground unit but none of those units are Known to the firer/Spotter]

Say what?

Yes, Case K applies; so it's actually easier to hit an empty hex than a hex containing only "?" units.

This is similar to the extra draw in an OBA when you can't see any real
targets (though concealed/hidden ones are close by).

You are penalized for the extra game knowledge you are taking advantage of . . .
