Finnish tank museum - Parola

My wife and I will be in Finland in July and I have found the tank museum at Parola on the web - the reviews are good - does anyone here have an opinion they'd like to share? We (or maybe just I) will be going by train.

Definitely worth the trip. With decent weather the walk around the island is enjoyable as well. Take pictures and post please!

Suomenlinna is the island, and is indeed worth a visit. If you're going there, check out the Finnish coastal submarine on display, in essence a German Type II submarine.

Parola (http://www.panssarimuseo.fi/) is a bit inland, I don't know where you're going to be visiting, but I'd assume Helsinki.

A short distance from Helsinki is also the air defense museum at Tuusula (http://www.ilmatorjuntamuseo.fi/) as well as the aviation museum (http://ilmailumuseo.fi/)

If you are going to be traveling the country northward (yes, just about everything from Helsinki is northward) I recommend the Raattentie battlesite (http://www.raateraakatie.fi/).

The Finnish Army museum in Helsinki is worth a visit. It has a lot of WW2 artifacts.

Thanks for the extra tips - I'll be checking them out soon, but probably will have the chance to visit only one museum....
