Crew used inherent to First Fire and Sub First Fire....

a) Can the crew IF an ATG that is possesses?

b) Can the crew use OVR prevention with same gun? (even if not allowed to IF)

a) Good question. I would say no, but am not sure.
b) I would say yes.

I would say yes to both questions. Read Rules C 5.6 - 5.64. C 5.6 says the only times a crew can't use IF is if it is pinned, shocked, or stunned.

I would say yes (if not marked "No IF"). I could find no other restrictions than those listed in C5.6. However, it could only IF during the enemy MPh, and not the DFPh(A8.4).

b) Can the crew use OVR prevention with same gun? (even if not allowed to IF)

In this case you could attempt OVR Prevention. If the Gun has "No IF" on the back, then it could not attempt OVR Prevention. (C5.64)
