Fighting erupts all along the front!

All the planning has been done and the 1st Operational Turn has kicked off. This turn will cover a 1 hour period (04:00-05:00) on the campaign clock.

Campaign overview;

It is 04:00, December 25, 1942 on the Eastern Front. It has been snowing off and on for several days now. This morning is no different although it is not quite as heavy or wet. Remnants of the German 3 Battalion/15th Infantry Regiment are hunkered down in their fighting positions trying to stay warm. Suddenly, the sound of approaching vehicles breaks the silence! Are they enemy? The Soviets always proceed their attacks with a barrage of artillery. Maybe they have changed their tactics in this sector? Looks like there will be no Christmas celebrations today!

04:15 - REPORT FROM THE FRONT

Soviet Recon and Armored forces have launched heavy assaults all across the 3rd Battalion's eastern front line. In the heavily wooded rear areas of the battalion's southern sector, Partisan activity has increased dramatically. Elements of OberLeutnant Panzer Leo's 2nd Recon Company have become engaged in hard, close in fighting trying to prevent them from penetrating his lines.

The Russians are coming! :surprise:

Our (well hidden) scouts are sending us reports about heavy enemy concentration in our sector. We expect at least one Heavy Recon Co, one Guards Tank Battalion and possibly a Parachute Infantry Batallion as well in our front sector alone!

This is a day, like so many other days, where we have to stand up and fight for our Fatherland. Come, Bolsheviks, come....we are prepared.

First skirmishes come out in our favor. A score down, millions to go...

Today is another glorious day in defense of our Beloved Motherland.

Once again we shall overrun these weak German invaders and clear their presence from our land.

We shall not fear, we shall not fail.

Each hour another victory for us unfolds.

They have not the strength to stand.
