For this campaign, I will be relying on the players to create the actual Pbem's. The reason for this is I want to use "Full Security" which means there cannot be a 3rd PC involved (mine) when setting up the game or the games are subject to crashing. Another reason is I want each player to be able to purchase their forces based on specific guidelines. Then there is the issue of preferences and other screen settings that will be required of the person setting up the Pbem.

While this is currently going to be a requirement of the Pro-Government Team Players, I may change it so that the actual Attacker sets up the Pbem.

All players need to please read the following and let me know if you feel able to set up Pbem's using the process listed below;

PBEM BATTLE CREATION:

This will explain the step by step process used to create the Pbem files for ALL battles once an Intent to Attack has been posted.
  • Pbem Battle is determined to take place,
  • OC creates Map and posts to battle thread,
  • Pro-Government player downloads Map and saves to Map Folder in WinSPMBT,
    • Pro-Government Player creates the Pbem by doing the following;
      Open WinSPMBT and select "Battle",
      Set Map Size to "80x80",
      Set Map Type to "Custom",
      Set Battle Type "according to Terrain/Combat Tables" (will be posted in the battle Thread as well),
      Set Visibility to "45",
      Set both players to "Angola",
      Set Battle Date to "October 1976",
      Set NAME to "the Hex on Operational Map the battle is taking place in"
      Set both Player's settings to "HUMAN (includes Purchase and Deploy)",
      IF "Water Conditions" screen comes up for Assaults just ignore (you are using Custom Maps),
      Select Preferences
      Set ALL General Preferences to "ON" (except Fast Artillery and AI Tank Heavy),
      Set ALL Realism Settings to "ON",
      Set Player Preferences to "100%" or "XXX" (except the following);
      Set Map Height to "80",
      Set Map Width to "80",
      Set Battle Points to "3000" for BOTH Players,
      Set Air Sorties to "10" for BOTH Players,

      Select "CONTINUE" (this will bring up the Load Map List),
      Select the Designated Map you have downloaded for the Pbem (this will bring up the Unit Purchase Menu),
      BEFORE YOU PURCHASE ANY UNITS YOU NEED TO EDIT THE MAP ! !
      Select "View Map",
      Select the "Clock" Icon and set the Game Length to 20 turns,
      Select the "z" Icon (to edit Victory Objectives),
      Select the "CLR" Icon,
      Clear ALL victory Hexes: Yes,
      Set value to "0",
      Enter "2" so that all Victory Hexes are "Neutral",
      Exit back to "Unit Purchase Menu",
      Purchase your (Player 1) units based on the following guidelines;
      NOTE: You should see that you have 2962 points available (38 points is for the HQ unit and is part of your allowable "Infantry" points)!
      You must build your remaining force using the following Point Guidelines;
      INFANTRY = 1962 pts max (the 38 HQ units points already counted here),
      ARMOR = 500 pts max
      ARTILLERY = 250 pts max (NO Offboard Artillery can be purchased),
      AIR = 100 pts Max (only to be used for Strike Element and Spotter Plane units),
      MISC (minus AIR listed above) = 500 pts max (trucks, barges, etc),
      Save the Pbem to the designated slot and send to Player 2,
      Player 2 gets the file and purchases his units based on the same following guidelines;
      NOTE: You should see that you have 1962 points available (38 points is for the HQ unit and is part of your allowable "Infantry" points)!
      You must build your remaining force using the following Point Guidelines;
