My favourite is Journal one. I think both PTO articles are excellent. Its got a nice Series Reply to go through and learn from. Its got RB CGIV. And some fun scenarios (Urban Guerillas my favourite of those I've played). And more....

I have to choose #2, mostly for the mix of scenarios, though many of them were available elsewhere. But it's a pretty amazing collection.

Journal 1 does it for me. Just for starters...
  • Excellent Intro to SMOKE Article
  • New CG for Red Barricades
  • Red Barricades SASL
  • Two great Jungle Articles
  • Great article on what to do with useless tanks

J2, hafta look at scenarios you will actually play and want to replay.

Merzie Zoo
Slaughterhouse
Round two

plus mini CG
counters...

Should sell again with xerox of J2, and full reprint of counters and Map(original price)....run the counters and map in 2006 when AoO is run...save a little dough.:bandit:

Journal 2 for me.

Although Urban Guerillas almost puts #1 ahead all by it's self. :crosseye:

Journal 2 here; Great Scenarios, Mini-CG and counters, plus errata counters.

Journal 1 because it ushered in a new era of official goodies to be bought. (that and it included some good articles...although I normally prefer the pictures)
Number 2 would have to be Issue 3. So many scenarios...so little time.

I voted for Journal #2, because when I was photocopying the scenarios during my updating scenario spree (Thanks alot Pitman), I noticed the number and quality of the scenarios.

My goodness, 24 scenarios!!! Merz Zoo, Smashing the 3rd, Capture of Balta, Panzer Graveyard and The Slaughterhouse with a Dan Dolan historical map and accompanying five scenarios! Nuff said.

>I am surprised that J3 to J5 so few votes, those were pretty good issues.

Journal #4 suffers because it is the 'Carrier issue' with only 12 scenarios.

Journal #5 has three Pete Shelling desert scenarios, but hardly anyone plays desert. So, we're left with two Stahler adaptations in Fast Heinz and Pavlov's House and a few other scenarios, but none that really jump out and say, "Hall of Fame scenario." With only 12 scenarios, there had better be some awesome scenarios in the group or the whole Journal suffers.

I am surprised at the lack of votes for Journal #3. 30 scenarios! It's got Pete Shellings 3 scenario mini-campaign, but you need AOO board 48 to play it, which is why I haven't tried it yet. Heck, I've only played 2 of the 30. What's wrong with me? Are there any 'MUST PLAY' scenarios in #3?

I am suprised by Journal 3, the poll wouldn't let me create an anscending order so you could list then in an order you prefer. I think journal 3 would make a good showing then. I expected 4 and 5 to be low, they were rushed products, and Chas Smith the main scenario designer left.

Journal 4...
I am in the minority that did appreciate the "Carrier" content.
I do like light AFVs and recon forces.
Having a series of scenarios about these strange vehicles (included the IP ones) pleased me a lot.
Journal 3 would be my second choice, as it has many "Norway" scenarios, quite easy and quick to play [I do like having some choice to introduce new players to the game].

Did we leave out the Annuals for any specific reason?

At this time, I can't place a finger on any issue (Annual or Journal) that I call my "fav".

I have found them all to great to pick one.
Almost like asking me which was my favourite module.

Journal #1

I voted for Journal #1 for the excellent PTO articles.

The rest of them are very good as well with number five being my least favorite. I believe the Journals are better than the Annuals although the last two of the latter (Annuals 96 and 97) were the cream of the crop of those magazines.

I might have voted for Journal #2 except I can't obtain one.

I voted for J2 -- incredible scenarios! Of all the modules, annuals, Journals and TPD items, I have played more scenarios from J2 than any other. J3 is an *extremely* close second.
