Kind of an insane deal at MMP's fall sale, if like me you've mostly written off DASL as not "worth it":

Deluxe ASL (8 map boards, 38 scenarios, 8 overlay sheets) - $25
WOBP 9 (4 map boards, 5 scenarios) - $15
WOBP 13 (3 map boards, 4 scenarios) - $9

So that's 15 map boards, 47 scenarios, and 8 overlay sheets for $49 total.

I haven't had time to play any ASL for nearly three months now (killing me), but at this price I guess I'll add all this to my pile of things to never end up playing...

I'm tempted by this but the extra 50 dollars shipping is a bit of a killer
Deluxe can be easily adapted to TTS and thereby "playable" if you don't like the large hexes.
$100 for 50 scenarios...

Buy more than a set to minimize shipping

And customs possibly...
Which absurdly applies to shipment cost as well (at least in Germany)...

Alas, unless MMP would just give away their stuff for free, direct order from the US are just out of the question because of the extreme costs for shipment/handling (which is not MMP's fault).

In Switzerland too.
Precisely, VAT applies to the value of the product + shipping.
But you first have about $17 customs examination fee to which you add the VAT.

Isn’t there a ‘Euro-friendly’ deal they’re offering via Second Chance Games ?

In cases of resellers involved, it is them that make the sale, not MMP.
So it depends on whether the resellers in the Euro-area happen to stage a "sale" or not.

That said, this does not eliminate the problem of ridiculous shipment cost from US to EU. That is why some resellers make bulk orders and have them delivered by ship rather than airmail. The only reasonable way to counter the rip-off of the other carriers.

I'm not trying to knock MMP here. The shipping charges are the same if you go onto the FedEx website and get shipping for thst weight of game. It is a shame as it must affect all US retailers selling globally.

Absolutely agreed.

MMP is not to blame but rather suffers (like all other vendors) due to the greed of UPS, FedEx, and other carriers. It is these carriers with their ridiculous and absurd shipment costs that effectively destroy business for the vendors when it comes to serving EU / non US-based customers.

Even maximising the amount I buy in the sale ro send to the UK, the post comes to $141!
So with duty on both the product and postage, its another non starter unfortunately.

As above, unable to make a purchase due to shipping charges to the UK. Looks like some good deals for local customers though.

Step 1. Have a few stiff drinks.
Step 2. Multiply posted price by two and add $50-$100.
Step 3. Note this down as the normal price of a US published game.
Step 4. Repeat this process every week via several retailers until you have become conditioned to the real price of the products.
Once you are conditioned you no longer consider shipping a separate item. (Alcohol helps the conditioning process)
Step 5. Choose carefully and purchase wisely.

Step 6. Repeat complaint about shipping every year at MMP sales time and new releases.
Step 7. Forget aboot (for my Canadian cousins) Step 7 in 11 months.

Same problem in Spain. Crazy delivery cost + customs taxes (applied to the shipping cost too) + customers examination fee. Not blaming MMP either, just sad to have to skip another Black Friday offers
