Error message downloading VASSAL 3.4.6

I received this error message when trying to download and install VASSAL 3.4.6 (to support VASL 6.6.1).


Has anyone else received this message and how did you install it?

I receive similar but different messsges, which vary from system to system.

I think if you select keep you will be able to install it. But you will have to decide whether you trust it or not. All I can say is that there are lots is safe and successful installations of VASSAL. FYI, I do not contribute to vassal nor do I speak for or against it.

As Doug mentions, happens all the time. VASSAL, especially new versions, does not have a very large/extensive (by most standards) installed base or history, which is what many anti-virus schemes look at to decide if a piece of code is safe or not.

I have never hesitated downloading code from the VASSAL combine. Every user should know when & how to download code their security feels is questionable....but then I grew to the age of consent (not claiming I ever "grew up") in the 60's and 70's.....
