Hi

Playing the germans against the russian enemy VOTG - situation has arisen where a russian unit has won a melle with a freindly german unit in the getmans CC phase.

In the ensuing RPHthe russian unit picks up a demo charge from the defeated getman unit and then in the PFPH gets an automatic fire command due to it being pretty much surrounded by german infantry and Stug’s.

The russian unit is pretty much going to die so it will gote its inherent FP based on the target determined by a roll on the target tables.

It will then arrempt to throw thr demo charge - I cannot find any rules to determine target or protocols for demo charges what am i missing

The unit has 4 targets to throw the DC against - a Stug, 2 HS with MMG, a squad and fonally a squad with an 8-0 leader and a demo charge - what should be the target.

I am thinking IFP at the half squads with the MMG and then throw DC at the Stug

Hi Simon.

"I cannot find any rules to determine target or protocols for demo charges what am i missing"
I don't see any rules specifically for DC usage in chapter S rules, so I don't think you are missing anything.

However, in the VotG SASL rules there is specific guidance for DC usage given:
6.3061 ENEMY DC UNIT: A Good Order ENEMY unit armed with a DC automatically receives a Move Command and will attempt to place the DC in an ADJACENT Target Location. Such a unit without an ADJACENT Target will move until it has an ADJACENT Target. Such an Infantry unit with a DC SW uses Assault Movement into best cover when attempting to place the DC. A Good Order ENEMY unit armed with a DC determines its Target using the following priorities:
Priority List:
  1. ADJACENT Target;
  2. Target in VPO Location;
  3. Target in a Fortified Building Location
  4. Location with most Known Infantry Targets
  5. easiest-to-kill vehicular Target.
