I’m assuming a broken unit which fails a morale check by more than its ELR, both suffers casualty reduction and lowering quality. Is this accurate? An original 12 would eliminate it, so we’re talking a roll of 11 or less but grew than the ELR (which for broken 1st line and green units leaves room for this case). That’s how I’ve played it but thought I’d get some feedback.

No. Only unbroken Personnel is replaced if they fail their MC by more than their ELR, see A19.13.

Edit: Sorry, I answered the question for the full rules. No idea if this is different for the starter kit.

Thank you. I don’t recall seeing it spelled out in my SK rules. Should have thought to see what the ASLRB said.

ASLSK #1.

Rule 3.2.1, "NMC" heading:
"...An unbroken unit that fails a MC by more than its ELR (see 5.1) might be replaced by a lesser quality unit."

Rule 5.1:
"...This number represents the maximum amount by which an unbroken unit may fail any MC (after modification) without being replaced by a lower quality unit... ...If an unbroken unit fails a MC by more than its ELR, it is immediately replaced by a broken unit of the same size but one step lower in quality as per the nationality chart on page 12...."

Thanks. I actually checked this last night and found “unbroken” in both sections. You’ve all been great.
