Has anyone notice that there is no errata for E9.12 and the reference to drift placement.
Under E9.12 Drop Point references the drift placement
"and the Drift Placement procedure (3.75) is used to determine the Drop Point"

the rule reference is I believe incorrect, it should be E9.2 not E3.75 as that is Drifts, Snow

so the difference in the index is Drift , Airdrop E9.2 and Drifts, Snow E3.75
Note one is DRIFT and the other is DRIFTS

The Drift placement procedure of E3.75 is used to determine the final Drop Point for off target Drop Points and thus the final Drop Point of each Wing.

E9.2 is used to determine how far each parachute of a Stick drift prior to landing.

I believe the reference to E3.75 is correct. There are two things going on in a paratroop landing. First is determining the drop point. On a dr of 1-3 the designated drop point is used, the sticks are placed and drift [E9.2] happens. On a dr of 4-6 a completely crazy drop point is used, on a random available board using the snow drift placement rules [E3.75] to determine the new drop point. This action is not "drift" [E9.2] but uses the snow drift rules to determine a hex. Once the drop point is determined, the sticks are put down and drifted [E9.2].

That both E3.75 and E9.2 use the word "drift" is just an unfortunate coincidence. The hex selection procedure in E3.75 could have been pulled out as a separate procedure (Random Hex Selection or similar), and then referenced by both E3.75 and E9.2.

I am writing a 2nd edition rule text of E9 Para Drop Landing and no reference is longer made to E3.75 and neither is the 33x 5/8 inch counters used anymore instead just use your Dice, see diagram below.

Example:
Roll a DR that will determine the Drop Point:
DR: Colored dr 1 / White dr 4, Hex: D5 (#4).
DR: Colored dr 2 / White dr 2, Hex: H5 (#8).
DR: Color dr 3 / White dr 6, Hex: R5 (#18).
DR: Color dr 4 / White dr 1, Hex: S5 (#19).
DR: Color dr 6 / White dr 3, Hex: GG5 (#33).
DR: C dr 6 / W dr 4 to 6, Hex: (#34 to 36). Reroll The DR.
