What does this mean?
Culturally in some contexts it can be a polite way to avoid saying “no”. This came up a lot in Iraq in interactions with western forces:

Will you be at our meeting tomorrow?

Inshallah.


Person does not appear and later gives an excuse for something apparently out of their control - God did not will it.

Like many phrases in various languages and cultures it can be interpreted multiple ways and has in some ways evolved to the point of being turned on its head.

I remember back in 1998 when Avalon Hill was closing its doors and Doomed Battalions was barely making it way from the printers onto game store shelves. Holding its thin but heavy shrinkwrapped box in my hands, I wondered about the future of ASL, as I had collected some modules with the plan of playing it someday. It would be seven years later before I would play my first game of ASL. Now can play the game somewhat decently and we're looking forward to a nice 4th Edition!
