Have always wondered.....

9-1
MMG
447
447
447

If the stack moves as a whole, do the units that do not carry the MMG go CX? In which case with 4 hex move the 9-2 and MMG+ 447 MMG would be CX
but the 2 other units would not. With a 5 hex move all units would be CX since it exceeds normal MMC MP ( of 4)...

Is this correct?

Thank you

If you are asking if some units in a stack moving together can declare Double Time while some don't - then the answer is yes.

The A4 MF/PP Chart even helps optimize a moving stack with a leader and an MMC by sometimes differenciating the use of Double Time between them:

This is why moving a Russian mmg quickly requires 2 squads and a leader.
Cx the squad with the mmg to move 6. Transfer the mmg in the advance to gain 1 (7). Move with the mmg carrier again CXing6(13) transfer and advance 1 (14)
Remember a CX squad with an MMG cannot advance, evening open ground.

I'm not sure I understand the question. If the above stack has a Russian MMG none of the above units would be CX for a 4 or 5 hex move - I presume you mean 4/5 MF move.

The question was about dividing so to speak carrying and non carrying units and CX and who it applies to. Also differentiating it via one stack.

This is exactly the forward thinking of the question. Extra jam for you !

It all depends on you! Did you declare Double Time for some or all of the moving units? If so, all the units that you declared are Double Timing become CX.

Merely moving in the MPh does not impose CX.

In the APh, units that Advance vs. Difficult Terrain (A4.72), but that depends on the MF cost
