I have not read anyone suggesting that. I know I wish he was still here.
From a post in this very thread:

I am not hoping nor wanting jrv to come back.
He was a notch lower than Klas as a rules guru.
And his slamming the door of this forum confirmed some bad side of his personality.
That said, I still appreciated his answers to rules questions.

So JRV RANDOMLY left GS???
I have yet to read a description of WHY he left...instead I see..."I don't know why but he's missed"

Whatever....Maybe THAT'S why he left...Not answered.... ?
He left because he didn't agree with one of his posts being changed by moderation and there being no acknowledgement stating the post was no longer his. There, now you know. -- jim

From a post in this very thread:
Just to give some depth of analysis, note my previous post, at the time jrv left GS.
I would suggest to wait before leaving for good.
This place is an excellent resource for rules questions and answers - as a forum, the questions remain visible, while they sink into oblivion in FB or other chat-like media.
JRV you are one of the best rules connoisseurs and I would like to tell you that I really appreciate the pain you take to answer our rules questions.
If you don't change your mind, I hope that we will have the opportunity to interact eslewehere.
Take care.
Link in case one needs to check
I admit that the post cited by Faded 8-1 was too harsh.
I do confess that I have mixed feelings.

So he quit because his post was MOVED??

WoW.
22000 posts in and he gets ONE moved and he quits?
ROFL.
Maybe repost the moved thread in the "EXIT interview"
He shouldn't move it then. as it's appropriate to the thread...

I think he thought it was deleted.

Based on the fact that he said it was deleted in the link I posted.

Maybe it had been building up for awhile. Maybe he was unhappy with the moderation policies and decided that if his posts were edited, deleted, or... yes even moved... he was out of here.

22000 posts, 90% of which were incredibly helpful. Many of which were among the most helpful posts ever made on this forum.

I'm inclined to cut him some slack rather than jump all over him based on some flimsy assumptions.

I left another group for this same reason.
No judgement here
