Since this is my first post: Hello everybody. I am Raffaele from Rome, Italy. I own ASL since it's first apparition in Italy in 80's. I just played a few scenarios so I am not what I consider an expert in the rules.
I have ALL standard modules up to Croix de Guerre and Red Barricades.
I have read some posts here and there and surfed some sites related to ASL finding some very useful hints on how proceeding.

The question I have is: Which are the differences between ASLRBr1 and ASLRBr2?

Is there a convenience in buying the new version? Is there an UPDATE (and economic) set of rules?

Due my relatively poor experience should I start learning r1 or better start r2?

Thanks for listening

The second edition includes all the erratas and debriefings about the 1st one.
There are clarifications about Human Wave and wall advantage.
The optional IIFT is also included
Chapter E is included, as is chapter K (which appeared before in many modules).
You also have two very usefull flowcharts, helping to manage Overruns and OBA.
I would say it is really a good thing to have the 2nd edition.
You will not need to "forget" the 1st edition to learn the 2nd one.
It is an improvement, not a revolution.

Hope that helps! 8)

I'd just add that the human wave and wall / hedge / bacage rules in v2 are very different from v1. You would have to "unlearn" the wall advantage rules, for example... but that's not a huge deal. I think it was Journal 3 that had a listing of major changes between the rule books, along with a summary of the wall advantage rules.

I'm working on trying to put together a document that lists the differences and get permission to post it on the web...
