Re: Der U-Boots-Krieg

Once again, thanks for the excellent pics!

I always wondered how they reloaded the UC II's external bow tubes :).

Re: Der U-Boots-Krieg

Few people are aware that the most successful submarine commander of all time was not Otto Kretschmer, but Lothar von Arnauld de la Perière. In World War I, he sank 194 ships with 453.716 BRT. Most of them were blown up after being stopped and searched or sunk by artillery fire, only a very few by torpedoes.

Re: Der U-Boots-Krieg

Regarding UBoot Krieg I strongly recommend this Book

http://www.amazon.de/Die-U-Boote-Kaisers-U-Boot-Krieges-Großbritannien/dp/3763762353/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1233138133&sr=8-1

Its more from a political view but its nevertheless quiet good. It clearly shows the debates going on between the german high command and the Kaiser. This book showed me that the Kaiser was not the bloke or that incompetend as he is always seen in the public view.
Do I know you from the Subsim.com forums? Maybe OFF?

You're not talking to me, but we're trying to increase our presence on SubSim. I'd appreciate it if you pointed some of your buds there to check out the Jutland forum at SubSim. It's pretty quiet right now :).
