Hello All,

When an Infantry unit destroys/(dis)/assembles a SW in the PFPh, is it marked with a Prep Fire Counter?

Thanks,

Raphael

The unit assembles an MMG out of LOS of an enemy unit. Does the other side get free intel of "there it is" because of the placement of a prep fire counter?

The opponent would get intel in that something (unknown) has been (dis)assembled. If there is only 1 dm (or dm capable) weapon they would effectively know what it is, if there are several they won't know which.

The same is true of weapon (dis)assembled in DFPh only a Final Fire marker is placed.

At night the placement of a prep fire or final fire counter comes with a whole new set of issues... gunflash and visibility to units outside the NVR for return fire. Seems like lots of noise and sparks must fly while assembling and dismantling weapons. One of those things that perhaps suffers in the reality argument stakes, but does make for some interesting decisions about how and when to use dm weapons at night (along with the requirement that all weapons capable of being dm must be dm when under a cloaking counter, so you also have to "decloak" to assemble a weapon).

To paraphrase one of my favorite lines from the original All Creatures Great and Small:
Only those that play it can play it wrong.

Only those that have them can lose them.
Ahh philosophy. Lead us to enlightenment which is useful during night scenarios.
