Hi gents,

Per C5.71 Deliberate Immobilization can be attempted only by ordnance, and only if the weapon's Basic TK# (for the ammunition type it chooses to fire) is > the target's lowest hull AF....does C7.21 AFV Rear Target facing apply to determine lowest hull AF? In other words could a 20L ATR (basic TK of 6) use DI vs a T34 (side/rear AF of 6) because you bring C7.21 into consideration?

Thanks,
John

I believe the basic TK number is everything inside ‘the box’.

Well,.... AP Basic TK#s are found on chart C7.31, APCR/APDS on C7.32, HEAT on C7.33 and HE Flame on C7.34.

Modified TK# are found by using cases A- D as per C7.2

Final TK#s are target AF minus - Modified TK #s

So the Russian ATR cannot DI a Pz V and a 20L cannot DI a T-34 (both have Basic TK# of 6 which is not greater than the weakest AF of 6).

Wouldn't the range modification on chart C7.31 come into play?
20L would have TK of 7 at 2 hexes and a TK of 8 at 1 hex.

No.

C5.71:
"...if the weapon’s Basic TK# (for the ammunition type it chooses to fire) is > the target’s lowest hull AF..."

C7.11:
"The Basic TK# of an ordnance hit vs a vehicle [EXC: via the Area Target Type] is found by consulting the TK Table used for that ammunition type to find the TK# listed under that Gun Caliber and Length. This Basic TK# is then increased/decreased by all applicable TK modifications (Cases A-D) to reach a Modified TK#..."

Cases A-D includes, Rear (A) and Range (D) - they both modify the Basic TK.
