Jeff W. and I played this be email. It was a very short scenario; I lost in one Game Turn.

Our setup was
22299
The top of the image is west. My units: W6 HIP RCL/228, CA V4; W7 HIP 237; X5 9-2, HMG/548; Y4 9-1, LMG/548; Y5 Trench, ?8-0, ?DC/248; Y6 LMG/548; Y8 468; Z4 MTR/238; AA5 7-0, LMG/548; BB6 HIP 237. I set up expecting Jeff to attack from the SE or SW. All my units in the graveyard have WA. I removed them from all these images for simplicity.

Partisan Turn 1
PFPh Jeff's CC8 mortar places smoke in AA5 and CC5. He rolls a 12 trying to place smoke with the X0 mortar. His other fire is ineffective.
MPh and DFPh I place two starshells, illuminating the south. I roll a 12 for my 237 in BB6, cowering and replacing it due to Ammo Shortage. This let him rush forward; I was counting on RFP to slow him down. When my unit in Y3 broke Jeff's DC/337 in Y9, I claimed WA. I didn't claim it at start because he had a LOF that didn't cross a wall hexside and I needed the building TEM. The sequence of his unit having WA then losing it let me claim it.

AFPh Jeff's fire had no effect. In the APh Jeff advances for HtH CC in W7, Y8, AA5, and BB6. In the CCPh Jeff eliminates my 237 in W7 and 236 in BB6. Neither of us affect the other in Y8. In AA5 his two 337s attack my 7-0, LMG/548 and rolls a 2, creating a 7-0! I attacked one 337 and only CRed it. At this point Jeff controls AA5 and will win unless I take it back in my Player Turn.
End of Partisan Turn 1

German Turn 1
PFPh I get one starshell, but it scatters to the SW. I plan to counterattack AA5 with the Y5 DC and the BB4 468. I malfunction my mortar firing at X0. I break the 527 in W7 and the MMG/337 in U2h1.

MPh Jeff gets a starshell, illuminating my U4 447's retreat path. Jeff fire 149,337 from T3, rolling a 2 and CRing and pinning my 447. The ?7-0, ?DC/248 leave the foxhole, AM to Z4 and place the DC on AA5. Jeff's DF is ineffective and we start the AFPh.

AFPh I roll an 8 for the DC attack, but only the 127 breaks from the 2MC.
APh I advance the 468 into AA5, becoming CX, the ?8-0 and 248 join it. The 248 drops the malf MTR and advances into Z5, the Y4 9-1 advances to Z4. I'm hoping to ambush him, and I want to prevent Jeff's withdrawing for the win in case he ambushes me.
CCPh I attack Jeff's units at 3-2 with a +0 DRM, HtH, and roll an 8. I only CR his units and that gives him the win. He controls 1 graveyard hex. 1 is ≥ the Game Turn 1.

Evaluation I thought this would be more interesting than this. Although Jeff didn't do it fully, it seems the Partisan player can swarm the graveyard on turn 1. The German player has to retake all the hexes that were captured or lose. With four 527s and thirteen 337s it's possible. He has two mortars to help with smoke, one s7 ROF 2 and one s8 ROF 3. The SSR imposing a +2 drm on starshell and IR attempts makes this night scenario even darker.

Great analysis, but I get the feeling this was a new episode of the Walking Dead...I can see a rush on turn one even with illumination just to gamble it all on gaining one hex after turn one is completed.
