This is an easy one and will jump right in even though my name is not De Paul. This is a SdKfz 7 set up to pull the launching pad for a V2 rocket

The h/t is towing the launching pad for a V2 rocket and has the armoured body for the launch control on its rear (it parked with its arse to the V2 on launch, they were sparkley things, liable to go bang), I think it is a SdKfz 7.

can't wait to see the end result of this "stump Paul".... Paul's treadhead knowledge is far too good for us mere mortals to comprehend.

I agree that it is a Mk II, but a Mk II IP (India Pattern). The India Pattern had the the fixed cupola. Curiously the IP version of the Mk VI had no cupola.

The Mk II IP as the 100th Light Tank Squadron (~ 16 light tanks Mk II/IV) were sent to Singapore in 1942 where they were lost.

My guess is that the photo is somewhere in the Indian North West frontier, maybe even the famous Khyber Pass.

Sorry for being late to the party but I was sinking the Rodney in Fighting Steel earlier on.
