Converting ASL scenarios to Squad Leader.
There was a big effort to convert the old squad leader scenarios to ASL. But what about reversing that process and converting new ASL scenarios to squad leader? The classic squad leader players would have an endless supply of new material to play with.
I dare say one could even play something like Red Barricades using the basic squad leader rules! Sound like a good idea?

The basic requirement would be to own the map bundle from MMP. The ASL AFV can be a bit more powerful due to their increased armour factor. But other than that I'm not sure there would be too many problems.

The CoI and later ASL armour values are roughly related by logarithm:
CoI:ASL = -5:0, -4:1, -3:2, -2:3, -1:4, 0:6, 1:8, 2:11, 3:14, 4:18, 5:26

You might need also to swap 3 CoI German LMG for 2 ASL German LMG. The opposite seems to have occurred with some SL to ASL conversions.

Believe me when I say it has been going on since 2004 at a furious pace. If you look hard enough, you can find many of them online.

further , there are many ASL rules that were quasi-incorporated into SL play, such as SAN and Defensive fire principles.

It is a thriving area still, the SL community.

I'd be curious to see how RB plays out using SL rules.
