I'm sure you were unaware of his circumstances.

I called Fish and left a message on his machine to give me a call if he was still breathing, the exact words. He had passed on. It still bothers me that his brother Mike heard that when he played Fish's messages. These things happen.

I laughed at that...because if it were I who had passed, I would be rolling around laughing in my grave at a) your embarrassment and b) my brother's embarrassment. It's hilarious. I've a very dark sense of humour. This appeals to me.

You sound inspirationally upbeat my friend. I had a close friend who was lost to cancer a couple of years back who was very similar in outlook. Admirable. I hope better news is heading your way even if it doesn't look that way right now.
