Hey all, so I finally found time to get back into playing CM lately and it feels good. If you haven't noticed already, I've got several videos up about a play test I was doing of a scenario for CMBB. I haven't had time to reeducate myself on what exactly I was doing and to be honest it might be a little while before I get back to it. However! In the meantime I'll be playing many quick battles and scenarios in CMAK and CMBB (with a little CMBO sprinkled in for good measure). And to top it all off, I'll be taking pictures and videos of my games using FRAPS. I had dozens of videos on my old computer before it died of a virus, so this time around I'm taking the videos and pictures and putting them up on youtube for all to see. I also feel as if there just aren't that many Combat Mission videos up on youtube as is so, I have decided to correct that. So below is the first in what I hope will be a long line of videos portraying the many aspects of the Combat Mission games we all play/played to death and love.

It's a simple quick battle. I played as the US against the Italians. I had a platoon of infantry supported by 2 bazookas, 2 flamethrowers, 3 hmg's, 1 BAR, 1 Mortar, a Half-track, and a Sherman. I was against 1 green Italian infantry company supported by 2 scout cars and 3 Italian SPG's. It was a meeting engagement and was very one sided. I lost 2 men in the entire action :crosseye: As with my other Combat Mission videos, it's a mixture of pictures and videos. ENJOY!

Well I sort of failed on this one but hey, I'm a busy man. Now that my first semester of grad school is over, I said to myself, "hey, you haven't played any of those Combat Mission games in a while. There's also that Esco-whatever game you always watch you could post." So here it is, it's a video of airBiscuit and Mephisto dooking it out on CMBO's Escoville Triangle map. airBiscuit released it in 2004, I downloaded it and have watched it countless times since then. I asked Palantir a while back if I could load up to youtube since airBiscuit hadn't been on in a while. I got permission and here it is. I've been worried it'd get lost to time so I figured the best way to preserve it is on youtube in everyone's favorite definition, 240 ;P BTW, here is the original thread: CMBO: Escoville Triangle - airBiscuit vs Mephisto

Oh yeah! It's a glorious 27 and a half minutes long.

It's clear that I have been away from CM for a long while. I also had trouble with FRAPS and now that I'm done with my first 2 semesters of graduate school, I decided to tackle the problem and see about fixing it. The result, is the brief video below showing German forces at the beginning of their advance in a large scenario I created some time ago for Combat Mission Barbarossa to Berlin.

I got a lot more turns in since yesterday (or thereabouts) and I created a small teaser using a few choice clips of the opening moments of the battle for a portion of the larger map/scenario. The town is called Goryunov, named after a Russian General/Officer I had read about in one of my Eastern Front books (as with the other towns in this scenario). It's not an objective but it is occupied and needs to be cleared of the Russians before the player (Axis/German) can advance to the rest of the map.

Not my video but a great video-slideshow of Barbarossa to Berlin showing the German point of view set to some very fitting classical music. Enjoy.
