I wonder what chess engine it is using? One of its own or a commercial engine like Rybka?

Robotic arm-equipped chess computer plays former world chess champion to a draw

Computer-human chess matches are nothing new. In fact, in 1997, IBM's Big Blue defeated Garry Kasparov. A match between a human and a computerized chess opponent that can move its own pieces is different, however.

Here we have a video of former World Chess Champion Vladimir Kramnik (2000 - 2007) playing the Chess Terminator. Unveiled back in June, playing against Kramnik brought it back into the headlines.

The "Chess Terminator" was developed by Konstantin Kosteniuk, the father and coach of Alexandra Kosteniuk, who is the current women's world champion. The Chess Terminator has a robotic arm which can grasp pieces, move them to another square, and even press the chess timer to finish its move.
