They both look cool IMO. Maybe the black counter is still better, but only just.

=ASRomafan;1411258]indeed. That is a big difference and they look so much better in blue than in black.

chuckles. the recycle bin is always hungry. My son calls it the the counter bin of shame. It has an interesting mixture of early CH counters, and official MMP counters. Each in it's own way offend the aesthetic sensibilities of the artistic player

I vote for blue, in case anyone cares. Just easier to read and easier to slot in existing counter storage systems.

The black background does pose challenges from a graphics standpoint as black on white always looks crisper than white on black, even though there is no difference in the graphics quality of either. This is what that same counter looks like in German blue.

Rick,

Nice counter artwork. How does this all look in the 1/2" size?

downgrading myself to the 'know no one cares' category but voting anyway  I vote blue as well, they look much better than the black as far as the images here look. As a wise sage said, the market has been flooded with 'men in black' and those on the face of it (going by the image) look far superior in image and detail to the one shown here. I suppose you could market to those with an aversion to buying anything from that company, but that would be a bit odd. The black just didn't look good IMO, the blue much better. Most I assume who have an interest in having the SS in black are drowned in them as it is. If BFP want to have a superior 1/2" counter, do the blue, they run laps aesthetically around the other blue SS counters on the market.

Not really fair that folks are basing their judgement on the black 1/2" SS on how Chas's avatar looks, GS really cuts down on the graphics quality (equate to file size) in order to display on the screen. Our counters are done in vector art, which means they are vastly sharper on the final counter image than what you can display on a screen (at 72 dpi). I've found that I need to magnify them to about 400% in my graphics program to get an idea of how they will look on the final 1/2" counters. What is displayed below is pretty close to how they will look as final counters, but they will actually be sharper than this on the final product.

So putting them side by side to provide a better comparison basis.

Really nice work, Rick - and knowing it's in vector art as opposed to raster, I know how much work is wrapped up in those images.

They both look great. I'd be happy to use either, and even take it in turns between them. Why not produce both, Eh?
