How and when can you get this and the boards and overlays and counters associated with it?

Thanks

eBay is about the only way just now.
Hollow legions has some but that's it.
Possibly the best chance of getting the rules is finding a copy of an eASLRB or collating all the how to guides and gathering the rules from there.

The two (out of print) versions of Hollow Legions only had desert boards 30 and 31. West of Alamein had boards 25-29 and desert rules, overlays and markers.

The future reprint of Hollow Legions is supposed to contain all the desert stuff plus a version of Soldiers of the Negus (Ethiopia).

It's down the road a ways, after For King and Country and Rising Sun. I would imagine 2011, certainly not 2010.

makes sense... it isn't like desert warfare has had 'em rolling in aisles in the past. Perhaps that will give a TPP time to do something like B&J (or even a real HASL) for North Africa and drum up interest in it..

still being a good boy here and waiting (im)patiently for Rising Sun..though I must admit I fell prey to the temptation of a low priced copy of WoA which I got, even though I'll be getting the new editions, since I have always loved playing in the desert and wanted to play it now.. not later  .

Give the man a CIGAR....

Actually have WoA & FKaC.

I guess I am the "Portal" for FKaC.

Micky, NO question is stupid and if you have played one scenario, you are NOT a noob. Don't let BobO talk smack at you either....

hahah... I figured that was it. Oh well...I thought I had found a kindred spirit... back to listening to some Toni Basil and indulging my inner-most fantasies of cheerleading with a drop dead body topped off with the face of a russian private.

can't wait to see these core modules back in print.. especially the PTO ones. Never was interested in the PTO before... but really interested in playing it. Looks like a helluva hoot.

Anyone have the boards for West of Alamein? I think I have everything else as spare from a guy who quit the game. I would have to check, but I would bet we could piece together a WoA if we tried. -- jim

there's a set of the WoA boards on ebay Jim that I've been watching... I was thinking of getting them to have another set for mondo-desert DYO's.

if I get them... I'll donate them to the rest of the set you have and help give back.. lord knows you all have been helpful as all heck to me as I've got back into the game.

He could be like me. Bought WoA when it came out but am now trying to build up a second set. It's really hard to justify eBay prices when you don't need the stuff but just want your own copy.

I was trying to pull together a second set while back. Had chapter F and counters and part boards. In the end I decided I couldn't justify it for the amount of DTO I play, I knew a reprint would come - hopefully within my lifetime - and I was depriving someone else of the pleasure of DTO. So I passed them on...

I'm really looking forward to the 2nd Ed PTO and DTO and when they are out I will buy another rulebook and get the whole lot hardbound!

I know.. .. just imagine fools like me that had them originally... yet got rid of them... only to be faced with getting them again in the face of those crazy ebay prices and dealers whose prices.. reflect those 'market prices' when they even had them. I have just made myself be patient.. and set my own price.. and as items crept past what I was willing to pay.. I waved them sayonara and watched for the next one. Only for OtO did my 'need' to own match what the market was asking.

has worked so far and have got all the core stuff outside of CoB and GH and a number of the HASL. For some.. I've reconciled that I'll probably never own a copy for those that won't be reprinted (ABtF) ..won't at least before a reprint brings prices slightly down (CoB.. and I'd have the new PTO one anyway the day it arrives after pre-ordering it haha)... or will have to be VERY patient and wait for a copy to come available and have the rest of the ASL world asleep at the wheel at get a copy of KGII for less than $150.

The desert boards are pretty much interchangeable. For the "flat" boards you can substitute without harming the scenario too much. It's the overlays I miss.
I have lost one of the half board ones from CoB and so will have to wait to regain it.
Well when I say lost I'm pretty sure it's somewhre in MrP's collection but since that's now on the other side of he world I'd say list covers it.

Cheers Olli. It's no biggie since we were missing it for quite a while before Ian
left for the deep south and never got around to finding it.
