Hi,

C3.22 indicates that under certain circumstances a gun gets a free CA change during a fire phase that it does not fire. My questions are:

A) Is the CA change limited to a 1 hex side change or can the gun change its covered arc to any position in the hex.
B) Does this rule apply to the covered arc of a Turreted AFV - there is a reference in C3.22 to D3.51 but this doesn't indicate if the turret can get a free CA change or not.
C) Does the rule apply to the covered arc of a non turreted AFV to change the vehicle facing.

Thanks for any insights in advance

Regards

Simon

As @Vinnie answered, (A) there's no restriction on the amount of CA change, although C5.1 might prohibit any change if it kept ROF when firing from a woods/building hex. (B) and (C) A vehicle could change its VCA and TCA per D2.11 and D3.12 (a turret-mounted weapon can be used to change VCA and TCA, a bow-mounted weapon can be used to change the VCA).

The last sentence of C3.22 is most helpful:

Such a change in the PFPh ... does not prevent that Gun from attacking in the AFPh—presumably now without any Case A DRM.
Sometimes better to change CA, endure the DFPh, and fire back with a better chance to hit rather than hoping for that conditional ROF.

If you're in a stone building, this is especially true.
