Do units that have suffered ELR during a CG Mission, retain their lower unit type going into the next CG Mission or do they revert back to their original unit type prior to the Mission that has just been completed?

The Introduction has "Your CG company’s OB is determined by your surviving units and any replacements received.", and S17.62 says all Directly Attached unit on the mapboard is Retained, which is "available for the next CG Mission" according to the Terms & Definitions. I take those to mean that units that BH or ELR during a CG Mission are available in their BHed or ELRed state in the next Mission.

Your heroes you don’t keep. They just become a DRM in the replacements phase. If you play a 1941 campaign as Germans you’re basically going to have a company of super soldiers by 1942. It’s honestly a little bit too punishing to the Soviets. I would rebalance it by making more human wave defenses and armored defenses (because they have to platoon movement) because lousy infantry make it a walkover a lot.
