Good news for pilots:

Iceland’s CCP Posts Record Profits in 2008

Icelandic software company CCP posted a USD 5 million (EUR 4 million) profit in 2008, as stated in the company’s financial statement released yesterday. That tops CCP’s profits in 2007, which amounted to approximately USD 3 million (EUR 2 million).


CCP’s primary revenue stream is the massively multiplayer online game EVE Online, which has 244,551 subscribers, according to data at the end of last year, mbl.is reports.


The worth of the company’s assets were estimated at USD 43.8 million (EUR 32.7 million) at the end of 2008, while its liabilities amounted to USD 25 million (EUR 19 million).


CCP increased the number of its employees by 92 in 2008, from 261 to 353. CCP operates in three cities in different parts of the world, Reykjavík, Shanghai and Atlanta.


Salaries and other operating expenses at CCP were USD 18.6 million (EUR 13.9 million) last year, USD 7.3 million (EUR 5.5 million) of which was spent on development costs.
