A Russian 8-0 in a trench with a DC is overrun by a Tiger tank and survives the OVR. He wishes to use his DC as non-CC reaction fire.

A23.61 says that "A DC may not be thrown to, or Placed in, the same Location occupied by the unit possessing it - unless the unit is Japanese or the target is a vehicle in Bypass in the same location as the Placing/Throwing unit."

The Overrun chart (LATW note c) and non-CC Reaction Fire (D7.22) refer to using a DC after an overrun.

Which prevails? Is A23.61 correct and all other references to thrown DC refer only to the Japanese? Do the Overrun chart and higher rule D7.22 prevail, thus anyone can use a thrown DC as non-CC reaction fire.
Thanks,
Rich

There is no conflict. Only the Japanese can place/throw a DC in its own location (unless the vehicle is bypassing within the location, but that is not a Non-CC Reaction Fire situation).

Thank you, thank you. I have argued this previously and the responses were always that only Japanese could throw a DC in a Non-CC Reaction Fire attack.
