Cross post from the Oz ASL mailing list:

Hi!

Thank you to all those who participated in CANCON 2018, the pseudo semi-official de-facto Australian national ASL tournament run in late January on the weekend of our country’s holiday. This is the 26th consecutive year this tournament has been run in Canberra, the capital of Australia.

The general consensus was that the three-day tournament and evening’s entertainment were a lot of fun. Congratulations to the winner.

As to the results:

Winner: Paul Seage

Runner up: Jamie Westlake

Third: Aaron Cleavin

State of origin:

1st - New South Wales City (14 wins – 7 losses)

2nd – New Zealand (5-4)

3rd – ACT (6-6)

The scenarios played in 2018:

2nd Round: 3rd RTR In The Rain (J43)

3rd Round: Coal In Their Stockings (AP100)

4th Round: Mile Peg 61 (RPT83)

5th Round: Twilight Of the Reich (SP97)

And a bit of recent history:

Paul Seage (2015)

Recent State of origin winners:

(Note: only after the Australian ASL ‘Pope-designate’ – Bruce Probst – anoints this tournament on all of the appropriate gaming blog spaces, will I refer to the winners of CANCON as the Australian national champion.)

Regards,

Andy Rogers

Richard beat me to it. I guess this makes him the Anti-Pope.
Hehe. Richard, this does not need to hinder you. Find another Pope. Been there, done that: In medieval times, we had up to three Popes simultaneously... ;)
