Can di tanks be moved at will at the end of a scenario ?

In RB ..

That's a good reason to buy them. Also do they have to be hit in the turret in the DR?

Thanks đź‘Ť

I"d like a reference to each of these as there is no rule that they cannot ....

Not sure about number 2 but if so seems a no brainer ...esp for the Russian.

Await results .....

A Dug-In AFV is treated as an Armored Cupola except as stated otherwise. Armored Cupolas are Immobile.

That’s fucky. You should be able to move them. Maybe in another HASL tho where it would indeed make more sense to abandoon a position to occupy a new one further back.

In VotG...you can "move" a dug-in tank.

V12.6214c: ...Such a Dug-In AFV may never become Mobile [EXC: if subsequently Recovered and Repaired as per 12.6151d-.6151f]...Furthermore, any Retained Russian AFV may be freely Dug-In at the Russian player's option.

Sounds like a complicated process.

Well I think you can see the problem. If dug in tanks CAN move placement next day AND act as a HD on each facing it's a superman defence that's almost impossible to break. I'd love Klaus or JV to input as it sounds too whacky at the moment ...

Is it stated otherwise in Rule O? I thought a normal afv was put under a trench but if it's a cupola that's going to be more jist for the mill... Whatever the answer it's going by to make a big difference ..

A dug-in AFV is put under a vehicle crest counter. If you put it under a trench that is another matter.

O11.607 CLEARING THE MAP: Each player now removes all remaining non-Isolated units/Equipment from friendly-Controlled Locations and places them in their proper box (with remaining informational counters) on his copy of the Chapter O divider (11.15) [EXC: A Gun/AFV in either a Fortified Building Location or Pillbox (SSR CG5 [11.4]) and Immobile vehicles are left on the map].

A Dug-In AFV is Immobile, and I see nothing that allows it to move in a later RePh Step....

Yes but only till the tracks are fixed :))

Can't do that on a Dug-In AFV.

c) Dug-In: A Russian AFV Platoon may be purchased at 50% (FRU) of the normal CPP Cost if set up on-map as Dug-In (D9.54). A Dug-In AFV may set up in Rubble and may set up using HIP in Concealment Terrain per normal Gun HIP rules (A12.34), but firing any Weapon or changing TCA is a concealment-loss activity (A12.141). Such HIP must be purchased separately (RePh step 11.621). A Dug-In AFV’s BMG (if any) is Disabled. (Such a BMG is automatically Scrounged successfully by the Russian. A number of Russian LMG equal to the number of AFV with Disabled BMG received for the Dug-In AFV Pltn are added to the Russian OB.) Such a Dug-In AFV may never become Mobile. Furthermore, any Retained Russian AFV may be freely Dug-In at the Russian player’s option.

It seems in some cases better to put the AFV under a trench rather than dig them in. That way the AFV can be moved between scenarios. However there is no discount to the CPP cost if not purchased as dug-in. And is it probably less likely the AFV under a trench can be HIP - only if the trench in a concealment terrain where a trench is allowed to be placed, which would mean debris and orchard - though could possibly still be placed concealed....

Also, under a trench the AFV does not get a small target size modifier that it gets if Dug-in.
