Came up in pt recently.

ordnance can only fire once vs one MP expenditure (C6.17) And PF must be a type of ordnance because it uses a To Hit DR.

But does this prevent a squad from firing two PF at a single MP expended ?

Nope. They can try for two PFs at the price of their entire First Fire potential (PFs are an inherent SW).

A squad can make two (2) PF attempts/shots on one MP expended. Its like firing 2 MGs in a combined attack on one MP expended, which can be done if the unit foregoes using its inherent firepower. I suppose it is more like firing two mortars on the same MP expenditure....which is also allowed.

From the compiled Q&A:
A9.61 & C13.31
Can a German squad attempt to fire two PF when an enemy unit expends only one MP/MF? Is the same answer true for firing two
MGs as To Kill attempt vs a vehicle? A tank firing MGs and gun?
A. Yes to all.

And in one superb case I fired a PF and got reduced then the survivors fired another and died...

That you can't do:

q&a said:
A7.35 & C13.8
Assume a German Squad has not fired its inherent Firepower and it fires a PF and takes the Backblast attack. Assume the squad is casualty reduced and the HS passes it MC (so it remains in good order). Can the HS fire attempt to fire a second SW? (e.g. a second PF). What if the squad CRs due to PF malfunction?
A. No to both.

Looks like I paid the price for my cheating!?
Depends. Did you kill your target with that second shot? In many situations, it's considered a fair trade (as in, not fair at all - from the opponent's point of view).

Do you mean 12's on the TK DRs? A 12 TH should not have hurt you much.
It does hurt - C13.36:
"...However, an Original To Hit DR of 12 (11 or 12 for Inexperienced Infantry; A19.32) is not only a miss but results in its operator suffering Casualty Reduction. ..."

Oh, I think I always missed that rule, I was only thinking of Backblast.
