The map is big - no doubt about that........ Eleven counter sheets....... Strength points losses at 50-60 men and 15 minute turns and looksee at the Leader counters and feel of it.

If it's a choice between this and La Bataille's version.............no contest...........the colour of the counters is very good. Small gripe with the wood/forest graphics but apart from that.........a real chipmunk's feast of nutty goodness.

Scourge of War - Remastered has early access release on Steam as of yesterday. Think it is the entire Waterloo Campaign. The graphics look better than before and as I recall; it has a lot of ancillary detail but probably still enough bugs to fill a Chinese synthetic fibre carpet.

Have they got rid of the line units overlapping into buildings and each other. A reasonable price and contributor made......a more detailed treatment than Total War. would ever do. I reserve judgement until it has been fully rendered and I have seen players opinions.
The effort and right way is there.............thumbs up for that. .

"Yeah, it's the same game that was released in 2015. But the visuals have been greatly improved. The foliage is much more fleshed out and the battlefield is beautiful with model sprite art more detailed. The controls have been improved, the UI, which was always pretty lack-luster has been greatly improved, and the game now fits on my ultra wide monitor nicely. I have always loved this game along with Gettysburg (which will be apart of the future release) and I am stupendously impressed with what Norbsoft was able to achieve to bring this classic back. As of this writing only the Waterloo battle is available with Ligny and Wavre and Quatre Bras to come ! ". .

$16.99 on Steam Website......they have just released Quatre-Bras at 10% off so prices are bouncing around. I would wait until all 4 battle games are released and then you can get them all for about $34.99 - $44.99 and in the Xmas sale , the bundle will probably go for $19.99, - $24.99 ( with updates and bug fixes done ).

As it's not snowing where I am; I had to buy 1397 tubes of toothpaste to get the desired effect. No worries; I will get my money back and then some by entering it for the Turner Art Prize 2025.

My hopes are high, as it has no artistic merit whatsoever, beyond the innovation of using toothpaste.

The icing on the snow-cake will be it's title,.....namely,- Frosty the genderless snowperson who identifies as a coked up Art critic on alternate Thursdays........... .

Wargame Design Studio has announced a new game and series today ( in development ) , based on the Medieval Crusades. This means that the Spanish Reconquista should be on the cards...........the only response I can give is:

" For God , .............the Cid and Spain,...............Spaaaain , ..................................Spaaaiiiin ! ". ,


and that is not all ; they have also said that Ancient Rome and Greece wars can also be now considered for future development.....which means that a more detailed wargame study of the Roman Civil War - Pompey vs Caesar is on the near / distant horizon...........................two items that definitely peak my interest . .

Scourge of War: Les Cent Jours - Episode 5 - "La Bataille des Le Souffel" Part 1. ( Video ).

These are a little bit difficult to find on ( yuuutub ) if you don't type in Les Cent Jours - it shows the use of the grog mod and is 5 years old. Maybe the mod can be used to do a new battle with the new series of games ?.

Scourge Of War still does not tempt me beyond viewing.......it would drive me nuts with the minor box clicking and units moving through each other/ firing and doing the manic rumba when set up near walls and the A.I. seems to be lacklustre according to some who have played it.

ATO's 2023 Annual, with La Bataille de Kulm inside, looks at the shattering reverse Napoleon suffered right after his triumphant defense of Dresden. An entire French corps, itself in pursuit of the retreating Allies, instead found itself trapped, and was swept from the field. It was the turning point of the Leipzig Campaign, and the Allied victory at Kulm had a great effect on their morale.
