Festung Budapest campaign.
A t-34-85 / squad stack is in no man's land between perimeters, in open ground.

Do they try to escape? We are unable to figure this out, it's probably right in front of our faces, but would like some help.

Thanks

Per 17.6051 the hex is "The overlapping hexes containing units are Isolated Areas.", i.e., a 17.606 Type C: MMC/vehicle(s) of one side.

17.6061:
"In a type C/D Isolated Area, each Russian unit/Weapon enclosed begins the next scenario with Ammunition Shortage (A19.131) [EXC: Escaped (17.6063)]."

So it looks like the T-34/85 can choose to remain or Escape. Though if it Escapse I think it might be subject to Withdrawal later in the RePh.

Do they try to escape?
Festung Budapest uses RB-style perimeters. Perimeters in RB-style are traced to strategic locations and/or MMC. If the squad cannot be included in a main perimeter, it forms a pocket (or possibly part of one). A MMC cannot be in no-man's land¹; it is either in the main perimeter or in a pocket. The squad and vehicle *may* be in an isolated area even if within the main perimeter, in which case they may escape but are not required to [FB17.6063].

¹no-man's land is hexes outside of both perimeters or inside both perimeters but containing no units and not strategic locations [FB17.6051]. Per FB17.6056 pockets are part of the perimeter even though they are isolated. (Note that parts of the main perimeter can be isolated too; isolation is when both friendly and enemy perimeters overlap).
