A friendly AFV is marked with First Fire. It is the enemy MPh, and an enemy AFV has expended MP's in LOS.

If this AFV wants to Intensive Fire with Depletable Ammo, and makes a TH DR > the Depletion Number (not malfunctioning the Gun), may it still try a 2nd Intensive Fire attempt with regular ammo before the enemy AFV moves away?

Thanks
Juan

Yes, a shot that exceeds the depletion number is considered not to have occured except for purposes of gun malfunction. It makes no difference that it is an intensive fire shot.

I'd like to see some more input on this issue.

thebigbad (aka Roy Connelly), you are our local expert on this. Do you have anything to say about this C8.9 question? :p

Hello Gents

The Purist is absolutely correct, the shot have not even occured with the exception of Gun Malfunction so it is just to try the IF shot with some other type of ammo.

Excerpt from C8.9:
"If that Original To Hit DR is > the Depletion Number, the firer had no such ammunition and is considered not to have fired yet for any purpose unless Gun Malfunction or Low Ammo (D3.71) occurs."

and then C8.92:
Intensive Fire does not change Depletion Numbers.
