The official ASL OBA flowchart is a terrific help but did miss a (very) few corner cases.

This chart is kind of a prequel to the chart.

In almost all cases, it'll flow along the heavy black-bordered path to the ASL OBA flowchart meaning, you don't need this, this time.

Re the few occasion it doesn't flow like that, this aid can save you some serious head-scratching and rules-diving time.
