Hello, a question in regards to LOS, TEM, and fire when moving from building to building on map 1

I have a German squad in level two in hex L7 and a Soviet squad in an adjacent building in hex K7. The Soviet squad during it’s MPh moves from its location in the ground floor of building K7 and moves directly to the ground floor location in hex L7.

Can the German squad which i believe has LOS to K7 fire at the Soviets as they move from building to building and if so what is the TEM, as when/if the Soviets get over to the next building there is no LOS between the floors, however MF haven’t been expended until they reach the adjacent building.

I was contemplating a snap shoot having Los to the hexside crossed however the Soviet squad is entering the firers own hex and a snap shoot is not allowed or that’s how I read it.

As an aside if hex K7 was a hypothetical single story wood building what the answer still apply

I think there's no first fire option for the German squad in that case. The K7 building type won't affect this.

That’s what I was thinking, their fatal ”floor”, being to high and an inability to fire down

From Level 2 you can fire down at those adjacent hex location with double your firepower, while the ground level squad can only fire up 2 levels with normal firepower. Otherwise it's not much help.

Yes thanks, what I thought. But with the soviets only expending MF in the next building they are then out of LOS of the Germans two floors abov.

The reason the unit at Lvl-2 in 1L7 cannot fire at a unit entering the ground level of 1L7 has nothing to do with the height elevation. As per A8.15 "[EXC: A Snap Shot cannot be taken at a unit while entering the firer's hex]."

Yep, he read it that way from the start, when he mentioned snap shot into his own hex. It was quite clear when he read the snap shot rules.

Could that A8.15 EXC be another instance of RBv1's use of "hex" when it should be "Location" that was accidentally carried over to v2?
