I am looking over the rules for the BRT game and have some confusion.
In G14.51 Tetrahedrons are introduced. In that paragraph, it states that tetrahedrons can attack ONLY LC. It then goes on to describe how they attack LC. It also states that if the final dr is <= 1, the LC is considered to have detonated an A-B mine inherent to the tetrahedron.
In G14.53, the topic of A-T/A-B mines is covered. This presents the rules for setting up A-T mines in Beach/OCEAN/reef hexes, stating that those set up in shallow OCEAN are termed A-B mines. The last sentence of the paragraph states "A-B mines can also attack Wading vehicles, but are resolved as normal A-T mine attacks."
From BRT we have the statement that any A-T mines purchased must setup with tetrahedrons.
From this limited view, I believe the following to be true:
1) if you have just a tetrahedron, without any additional A-T mines purchased and placed with it, wading vehicles are not attacked. The only effect is the increase by one of the COT.
2) if you purchase additional A-T mines, and place them with the tetrahedron, those mines attack wading vehicles, just like A-T mines (i.e., upon entry/exit of the hex).
In my current BRT game, we played that the tetrahedron alone (I think, but could be wrong) can attack a wading unit, but I think that was in error.
I encourage your views on this.
Desparately trying to figure out how the marine can actually win this one.
