Is a miracle, let alone one on my island!
We are about to start BRT CP III
I’m the Japanese
And plan on giving AAR’s,
If people interested?
Only asking,as not want to clutter the board
With something personal, if no one interested in it.
Plexiglass on the map, buying stuff now...
3 day weekend to start placing units
Will try and post photos if there is an interest...
And as a bye the way...
If anyone ever visiting Big Island o Hawaii,
And can talk there “ Boss” into stopping in Hilo, got Wine and Game table ready to go,
And we do BBQ too...lol
So She Happy, we happy... and we talk about how the dice suck...lol

Somewhere in the net, there's even a net-extension for the tip of Betio (I believe I saw it in the download section of Texas ASL club, but I have not doublechecked.)

When I was a corpsman with the 3rd Marine Battalion, we used to go up to the Pokololo ( cant spell the name right) training area on the Big Island. It was like being on the moon due to alot of craters all over the place. Anyway, glad to know you found an opponent to play ASL with, not an easy thing to do nowadays.

Him...lol

Not sure what you mean by "the triangle." There is a position known as "The Triangle" at Buna, but none that I know of by that name on Tarawa. Per BRT SSR 1, "No fortifications may be set up HIP [EXC: Fortified building locations, A-T Mines, and Passages (6.5)]."

Of course as soon as I posted that question,I saw BRT SS1... :(
And now my post makes me look like a Moron... lol
By the triangle, I ment that area in closed by the runways ...
I’ll take the USMC wasting a bombardment there if he sees my Trench’s...lol
It’s hard trying to wrap my mind around all
My units are to die in place mostly ...
Hard Crust, but gooy center, hoping to have a few hard nuggets hiding in there...
Not that it will help if he ashore in controlled units...
Not a lot of deception I can do at the start, but if I could at least get his bombardments off a little...
that helps...
Are you all interested in an ongoing AAR?
I’ll try and download pics and comments if anyone interested?
Aloha from ‘da Big Island...
Anyone on vacation here, look me up... yes?

To my thinking the bombardment's main value is its Smoke. The initial waves will be running a gauntlet of fire. Anything that helps infantry survive to get off their LVTs alive will be invaluable. A secondary value is to create breaches in the seawall. Third they can create rubble at the base of the pier. That will allow units to move on the pier without a firelane, at least until the Japanese occupy the rubble. Last it will cause casualties. The Japanese have plenty of stuff, and losing some small amount of it will not be that important. If the American player uses his bombardments anywhere but the shore edge, I have to think that helps the Japanese much more than it will help the Americans.

Here is the link to a long-winded BRT CG III AAR I did several years ago. It seemed to get positive response...so you might enjoy checking it out prior to playing your CG.

this was a very good one. You might consider clarifying with your opponent if, (and how many if yes), LVTs will count for CVP. The SSR's are a bit ambiguous if CVP would be awarded when an LVT is abandoned and then wrecked for being immobilized, etc. Best to clarify such things before you get going.
