I'm actually not sure. I have a board 11 I bought at a local shop decades ago that's decidedly dodgy - the features are all in the same places as my 'proper' board 11 but there are tiny differences in the shapes of woods & fields - they are a lot more 'blobby' than on a regular board, and all the colors are slightly off. It's missing the boxy ASL logo in the corner as well. I was never sure if it was a pirated copy or what. I thought the deal with the rogue boards was they were supposed to be left/right flipped? (Mine isn't.)
Regardless, it's much less ugly and surreal than the Stalingrad boards.
Check out post #33 in the Meanwhile in Bizarro World thread.

It's not like they can't make a rationally colored, attractive urban map, just look at Festung Budapest.
/QUOTE]

My sentiments exactly. The Festung Budapest map (and the entire module for that matter) is my gold standard for ASL urban warfare games. I've never understood the 'Salmon' color choice for RB / Stalingrad. I can still recall my stunned 'WTF?' reaction when I first opened the box all those many years ago LOL! Which city on earth has a surface even remotely similar to that color? Notwithstanding, the RB module is excellent enough for me to tolerate the hideous color.

Hey, quick question: is there some imagery somewhere that compares the colors of the BGD counters to one another, and to standard ASL counters? It could just be the white balance on the pics on the store, but e.g. the British and the Japanese look almost identical, for instance.

I know from purchasing many other BFP products that the Japanese for example are definitely yellow and pretty close to official. Same with the British from my recollection.

Sorry, misread it as BFP. As you were.

A quick pic to assure you of the differences...

The colour matches for all Alan’s counter sets are pretty damn close to MMP and everybody else’s counter sheets, no worse a difference than the different printings of Official stuff to be honest .

Because they decided to be purist (my speculation) and put the water/shore at Level 0 and therefore everywhere else is Level 1. I assume after they did that, they thought, "hey, looks like it's extra destroyed/muddy/etc, too!"

Took me a while to figure it out, too.

There's going to be a delay in shipping current orders as my body has entered "core shutdown" mode after visiting family out west. My family is great, but all the socializing took a heavy toll on my depressed soul. I also have a good wife and a strong faith, so I expect to return to normal operations after the weekend. My apologies for the inconvenience.
