In the attached image, the T-70s are using Platoon Movement and have expended 9 of their allowed 14 MP. The two on each end wish to use their remaining MPs in delay and remain in motion, whilst the one in the middle wishes to stop. I assume the middle one would have to take a D14.23 non-platoon TC to effectively "break off" from the platoon.

1) Assuming it passes the TC, what happens to the other two AFVs?
a) The space is treated as "gap" as per the penultimate sentence of D14.22 and they can remain in their hexes in motion.
b) In order to remain in motion, the remaining AFVs would have to take a D14.23 TC.

2) Does the answer change if the middle AFV fails it's non-Platoon TC? By the provisions of D14.23, it would simply stop (which was the goal to begin with). How does this affect the two remaining AFVs?30896

The D14.23 TC to use non-platoon movement can only be made at the start of the MPh, IIRC.

At least the ASOP has no reference tp D14.23 in the DURING ITS MPh section.

Yup, question answered. The only time it can break off voluntarily is at the start of it's movement phase as per D14.23. Sorry to bug y'all.
