Agree which is why its snoogiewoffer...to most of us.
Well, where the superior precision of German terminology has made it into the ASLRB, then it is out of the question that you should stick to it.

There is nothing like the Nahverteidigungswaffe!

After all, you also say Panzerfaust and not 'poopie f@%*er' or something like that.

Counterpoint: Americans don't pronounce it correctly, we say "paynzzzerrrfaust", not "pahntsehfaust." Maybe "snoogiewoofer" is just how we pronounce "Nahverteidigungswaffe"? What you really need to be correcting is our spelling!

Ah - where's the discipline?! If I had your wretched bodies for but one week of harsh training on the parade ground, every last one of you would be cursing in German without even a hint of an accent.

Is that why you Euros invented A4 paper? To have extra room for all those big words?

I recently learned of the snoogiewoofer term. I originally thought the word sounded like "nuh goons waffles". When I learned elementary German the word became easy to pronounce.

Was ist das? Das ist der "Snoogiewoofer"! Es heißt auch der 'Näheverteidigungswaffe', aber das ist formalisches Hochdeutsch...
