When claiming wall advantage with bocage, can you select one hex side for WA and not all of the bocage hex sides? My example is the 4-6-7 in DD5 would like to shoot at the 6-6-6 in GG4, but not be exposed to fire from the 3 x 6-6-6 in CC3. Unlike walls and hedges, there would be no LOS. ASL is not reality, but it seems as if you should be able to claim one hex side for WA.

Thank you.

Even in Deluxe the German unit would gain WA over all those hexsides....if no American unit were claiming any of them, when the German unit entered....
B9.321 says "in Deluxe ASL, WA is claimed/retained/lost per hexside—not hex".

Are you relying on B9.323 Mandatory WA to argue this? Would your statement still be true if there were also a single-hex building in DD5?

What changes in Deluxe (IIRC - have not played a Deluxe scenario in over 30 years) is that you can be denied WA on one hexside, and still claim it on other hexsides. But you can still claim WA over all hexsides with a single unit.

Thank you. It's been a while for me for DASL as well. I misread B9.321, looking at the first EXC without keeping it in context to the full sentence.
