Here are rough proofs of the next series of boards. There are several changes yet to be done, but wanted to get these out for folks to see.
Doh, I deleted them from my photobucket account...:p

The artwork on those boards is popping!

What are you guys trying to do, make the geoboards obsolete?

They are geoboards! Just not geoboards as we know it.

...geoboards as we know it.
I didn't believe the qualification was necessary...

And these new boards are not really geomophic, as they can't be attached to any other of the new boards on all sides. So these are not quite geo-boards, but they work with and are compatible with geo-boards.

I'm liking the concept more and more.

I'm really liking these new boards. The "border/shadowing" on the hills, woods and buildings really made the terrain pop out.

Not true. If you look closely, these boards will join on all edges to each other. The only exceptions are the 2 river boards. These two, 3a/b and 6a/b, will join on their 16" sides (in any order or orientation) and of course to any other 16"x11" on their 11" side. Standard river/canal boards 7, 8, 23, 40 and BFP G also are not geomorphic on their 8" end with all except the other river/canal boards. The limitations on 3a/b and 6a/b are solely due to the presence of the river on their 16" end.

The only asymmetric element is the presence of half hex woods on L0 and N0. The reverse (double sided printing) side will have these on D0 and F0. Though an inverted (board number on bottom right or 180° rotation) 4a will not match 5a on the 11" side, 4b will match 5a and 4a will match 5b.

The only other feature that crosses board edges are roads. These cross on the I hex column and the A5/6, A15/16, Q5/6 and Q15/16 hex side which are completely symmetric with regard to board rotation (IE on the exact middle of the 11" side and the quarter and three quarters position on the 16" sides). The only problem will be mating with old style 8"x22" boards. There is no equivalent to the standard hex column Q road.

Of course neither the old or new boards are geomorphic with a 90° rotation.

Cool hill board. Is there a 'theme' for this pack?

Do you help designing scenarios?

I was thinking about retiring. Maybe not now.

Man when all 6 are out just having a scenario with two or three of these new boards will be cool.

I like the more square board to fight on.

Boards look fantastic.

And I notice the slopes went away.
I'm not dead yet!

I think it's a huge mistake to not include them, and I'll keep on fighting for them every inch of the way.

There is absolutely no reason why CG terrain should not be in Chapter B, IMHO.

You know that with these boards we have reached a new level of decadance in ASL that no other wargame has experienced. Kinda feels naughty and nice at the same time.

My question is, though, when is this board thing going to stop? When (if?) the SK-style mapboard set comes out, the entire series is going to weigh more than the original 52 mounted boards!
