The ASL players have arrived. Of course, their first concern was where to eat rather than opponents, scenarios, etc. The hotel restaurant is now Indian which will go well with our Burma mini-tournament.

ASL for laughs is underway with scenario C "Streets of Stalingrad" team game. We already learned that a Berserker can ELR! Who would of thought.8277

EC's have turned to rain here in Raleigh making less likely the players will be taking a break to enjoy the 70+ degrees and sun of yesterday. The Grognard is underway with 32 players seeded along with one Hatten campaign game and a couple of pickup games. 8280Some photos..

These are threadbare live updates, Ray!

What scenarios did they play? Which one was a dog? Who whined throughout a game and still won, bringing shame on himself and his entire circle of friends?

Why is Mr T claiming to be from Florida? Why isn't anyone stopping Deller ?

Lots of unknown knowns for us out here in Bangladesh, man.

The skinny will be given after I segregate facts from whining. Sort of typical these days in the USA. So far as everywhere, people are having a good time. Ray

Round Three of the Grognard...

Tournemire vs. Stoppel
Deller vs. Sheppard
Cirillo vs. Reenstra
Kearney vs. Loper

We would post more info as to which scenarios but we have six mini-tournaments to run in addition to the main event. As any TD knows, there is a lot to do.

You can tell it is Saturday night at an ASL tournament. Losers are drowning their sorrows with hard stuff and/or playing a multi-player Eurogame. Obviously, the tournament is (wait for it), approaching the bitter end.

Round three results:

Rob Loper and George Tournemire lose to Tom Kearney and Bill Stoppel respectively in "Wrecking the Rentals" while Dave Reenstra and Sean Deller lose to Bill Cirillo and Doug Sheppard in "True Grit".

Congratulations to Bill Cirillo for winning this year's edition of the "Bitter Ender". Bill bested Doug Sheppard who remains a bridesmaid (he said this himself) in this tournament. Thanks to everyone who played and helped this year.

If Mike Rickman (who ambush withdrew back to TN early this morning) reads this, be it known that he garnered the Darrell Wright Sportsmanship Award. Nice going!

Also, one player is missing his Plano stored Russian infantry. Please check your kits for these deserters. The commissar wants to have a word with them.

Ray,

If you and David Goldman can coordinate dates, I would love to attend Bitter Ender next year.

That has always been tough to do because generally Easter and the basketball tournaments generally are the overriding concerns when we discuss a date with a hotel. We have talked to Dave in the past to avoid conflicts, rest assured. I believe Doug Sheppard will be the TD next year but I will be involved also.

So is there actually a website we can visit to see all these crunchy numbers or is that still a future option?
No website yet, probably 2 months away. However can send file reports on request to interrogate data. Things like most balanced/ played tournie scenarios are easy to produce. The more of these report requests I get the more are likely to be available on web site.
