Not sure what is going on here. The M8 HMC (Howitzer Motor Carraige, and you will note that that gun is no howitzer) is the "Scott", American vehicle note 43. What is depicted is the M8 armored car, American vehicle note 42. The "Priest" is the M7 HMC, American vehicle note 44.72d M8 HMC(a):
This represents M8 Armoured Cars (American Vehicle Note 42. They were captured in small numbers in most theaters of War and pressed into service.

I think this is the wrong image but couldn't find a "Priest".View attachment 8860View attachment 8861

The "Priest" was an M7 HMC, modified from the chassis of an M3 "Grant or Lee" sporting a 105 HOW NT MA and so called because of a pulpit looking protrusion to the right of the gun. The M8 AC (the picture) was commonly referred to as the "Greyhound" and was an adaptation of the Deuce and a half truck. As for the nomenclature you have referenced, the correct dipiction would be the M8 HMC "Scott" or Scotty" which was an adaptation of of the M5 light tank sporting a 75mm pack HOW in an OT turret.72d M8 HMC(a):
