1. An AFV using BFF for MGs or MA, does it cost a MP with each usage, similiar to a sM or sD?

2. An AFV has 13MPs, it spends 11 and stops, fires MGs, then fires MA and ends its turn in that spot. Can it gain a AQ on the target that it fired its MA on. It does not have a gyro.

thanks

No, BFF does not cost any MP.

Acquisition cannot be gained/retained by a BFFer unless the vehicle has a gyro.

1. But it must be used in conjuction with an Mp expedature. you can't shoot the MA twice in a roll unless a delay is used.

2. No but if you waited till the AFPh then you could gain an AQ.

A strange philosphical inconsistency for which there is no satisfactory answer....it does not take any MP to shoot, but you must expend a delay MP between shots if you get ROF.....? Many people end up associating the shot with a specific MP expenditure, but it really isn't. As an example, you can't expend a stop MP and shoot all at the same time without giving your opponent a D-Fire shot at you [EXC Gun Duel]. The sequence is STOP MP,....pause to allow the defender to declare any D-Fire at a stopped target....BFF shot (by a stopped vehicle,no MP expenditure).

Hence the tension between BFF with the possiblity of ROF and Adv Fire and getting the Acq.....

Ain't it a great game?

The Attacker initiates Gun Duels.

I believe the only time a Defender can initiate a Gun Duel is when the Attacker uses BFF before any MP expenditure. Once the Defender gives up his chance to fire, he has lost it until the next MP expenditure or after the Attacker BFF.

Later,
Jeff
Yes, and it is the one exception to the sequence I listed. After the stop movement point is announced, the normal flow of actions would be for the defender to declare any D-Fire he might have, followed by the phasing (moving) layer declaring any fire that he might have. A gun duel is an attempt by the phasing (moving) player to fire his armament before the defender.

The point of the discussion is that none of all this shooting is happening simultaneously with the expenditure of any MP.
