Hi,

What happens when a broken unit is in the same location
as a berserk enemy unit and unable to rout away and No
Quarter is not in effect.

Does it attempt to surrender to the Berserk (which eliminates
them instead) ?
and I assume if so that No Quarter is then invoked ?

Regards,
Klas

Actually, the answer is no and no, A20.21. The berserk squad is not in Good Order, so the broken unit cannot surrender to it. Since it cannot surrender and cannot rout, it is eliminated for failure to rout. Such elimination does not invoke NQ, per A20.21 again (ASLRBv2).

Yeah, that's what I just read on the ASLML. I didn't realize you couldn't surrender to someone who is not good order.

But if there was a Good Order unit adjacent to the location the broken
unit would surrender to them ?

Yes, if there is a GO unit available to take surrender and NQ is not in effect. Think of the berserker (and any other non-GO enemy unit) as a tank. It can't take surrender, but it can force elimination for FTR without causing NQ penalties.
